Hand-thrown ceramics inspired by nature

Nature brings out the best in all of us

Like waves in the sea, symmetry is not constant. Nature is a series of interactions, I have always loved the interaction between geometry and nature. The shapes, the earthy and organic tones of my creations are inspired by the stones, lakes and nature that surrounds me. No two humans are the same nor are any of my ceramic pieces. Individuality is key.

Colours like you find in nature

Colours are all around us. Mountains, rivers, trees, birds, cows all have their own unique colours and influences.  I prefer earthy tones and love to combine different glazes to bring out unique colours that compliment those found in nature.

East meets West

I often bring my Chinese background into the shapes and colours of my creation. Having lived in Poland, Belgium, England and now Switzerland for more than two decades has added their own flavours and influences into my pieces.

Why does handmade matter

I generally start in a direction but let the creation come from the journey. It`s unique, it`s one of a kind, it`s created with my thoughts and love molded into every piece.

It`s not uniform, possibly imperfect, just like all of us! Therefore my creations are usually not made in sets, on the other hand, the set can be combined by different shapes and colours. I find that brings more diversity to the table.

The feeling I get from spending hour upon hour crafting my pieces just so someone could one day enjoy their meals out of my handmade pottery is indescribable.

If you have some special shapes or colours you fancy, contact me and let’s see if we can catch the inspiration together.

Ceramics for mindfulness

Life is fast and we all need time to slow down. For me its making pottery. I make pottery as a means to relax and practice mindfulness. I hope you will enjoy my pottery. if you would like to find yourself on the wheel, join me in my studio for a one to one or two person session.

Making ceramics is the new yoga. Slow down and create something  that you have inside of you. Let out your creativity. Come and join one of my mindfulness sessions in the studio.
